Luc Trullemans arrives with good… and bad news!

The general atmospheric situation over Europe will be marked this Thursday by an anticyclone above central Europe and a deep depression over the Atlantic Ocean.

Between these two systems will circulate southerly currents from the south of France with a rise in temperatures as a result.

It will therefore be mild in the morning with initially still clouds to the west of the capital but already quite a lot of sun over a large eastern half of the country.

Maximum temperatures will easily reach 14 to 15 in the plain, 13º by the sea and 8 to 13º south of the Sambre and Meuse furrow.

The southerly wind will blow moderately with peaks of 35 to 45 km/h but up to 50-55 km/h on the Ardennes heights.

At night, the sky will become cloudier once more in West Flanders. It might rain a little in the morning in the Westhoek.

The minimums will remain positive with 4 to 9º on the Ardennes relief and 9 to 10º elsewhere.

Friday

The oceanic depression will have moved a little closer to Ireland, which will cause more cloudy periods for us and perhaps locally some light rain in the west and in the followingnoon also in the south-west of the country.

We will gain another 1 or 2 degrees with maximums generally between 10º on the eastern highlands and 17º locally in the plains, passing through 11 to 12º near the sea.

At night, there will be light showers everywhere with 8 to 11º over the country.

SATURDAY

The depression will rise further north towards Scotland, maintaining the disturbed area in our regions with alternating cloudy periods accompanied by showers and a few appearances of the sun in an air that remains very mild and at regarding the same temperatures. diurnal.

Sunday

The air mass will have changed, becoming a little less mild under a light westerly to southwesterly wind which will maintain temperatures between 7 and 12º depending on the region.

The sky will often be cloudy with little or no sun and still some light rain or showers in places but especially in the center and east of the country.

Monday

A new depression will arrive on the side of Scotland with its procession of disturbances extending from the Bay of Biscay to the North Sea via the English Channel and our country.

It is therefore a rather rainy and quite windy day that awaits us with peaks of south-westerly wind between 45 and 65 km/h.

Temperatures will be close to normal for the season, ranging between 7 and 11º in the Ardennes and 11 to 13º in the plains and on the coast.

Evolution for the rest of the week

The fairly mild south-westerly ocean flow will persist with quite a lot of rain for Tuesday but also a few more wet episodes on the other days.

Daytime temperatures remaining between 7 and 11º on the eastern relief and 11 to 14º elsewhere.

Likely trend for the weekend of March 25-26 and the start of the following week

There should not be many changes in the type of weather with almost every day a risk of rain and not yet very mild in perspective…
