“Healthy food for 4 people costs more than $2,500,000”: Association of Food Banks

In Colombia, 19.6 million people do not earn enough how to have a healthy diet in Colombia,

The organization’s calculation is that a diet that meets the ICBF healthy eating guidelines, it costs 643,000 pesos per person and for a family of four it already costs more than $2,500,000, this in a country where the minimum wage reaches 1,160,000 pesos.

In addition, according to the organization, the situation has worsened in recent years due to the shot at Food prices that continued for some items throughout the year.

The biggest victims of this situation are children, since so far this year there have been 45 cases of death due to malnutrition and some 3,500 diagnosed cases of chronic malnutrition.
