The affirmation was known through the author’s new book Tom Quinn which bears the name: “Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family”, where various details of the secret marriage were revealed.

He refers to the act as a strange practice, but one that must be executed as a real protocol: «These are always held to ensure that a future queen can have children. If Kate had not been fertile, there is no doubt that the marriage would have been ruined.«.

In the same way he explained what happened with Princess Diana: «Diana complained in a brief meeting with the present author that she had innocently thought her marriage checkups had to do with general health, only to find out later that she had actually had this test.«.

Kate Middleton currently has three children with her husband, Prince George, Prince Louis, and Princess Charlotte.
