Brussels – Footage of a collision between a Russian warplane and a US drone over the Black Sea has emerged. A Russian Sukhoi-27 fighter jet rammed a US MQ-9 Reaper surveillance aircraft.
The accident happened during a routine surveillance flight in the international airspace on Tuesday. The US military stated that the Russian fighter jet dangerously flew in front of the MQ-9 several times before the collision. US Air Force Europe and Air Forces Africa Commander General James Hecker said the MQ-9 was completely destroyed in the crash. He also stated that Russia’s carelessness was the cause of the accident.
