30% cheaper with the SN-Card to the Lokwelt Freilassing

Around ten kilometers from the center of Salzburg, the Lokwelt Freilassing invites you to get to know the “fascination of railways” in a variety of ways. Nostalgia and the present complement each other perfectly.

The Lokwelt Freilassing, which opened in 2006, is a first-class museum in the Berchtesgaden region with its outstanding locomotives. The authentic location directly on the railway line underlines the flair that the former depot has breathed into the current museum. Our exhibits include high-quality locomotives from the Deutsches Museum – Verkehrszentrum, including locomotives from the E 16, E 44 or E 03 series or a Bavarian express train steam locomotive from 1874. Numerous objects from signaling technology are also presented in the “World of Railways”. and the track construction.
In the “Little Locomotive World”, which was specially set up for children between the ages of 6 and 12, everything revolves around making the working world of the railway understandable by touching, hearing and experiencing. When the weather is nice, ICE Bobby Cars invite you to take a trip outdoors. A special experience is the LGB – Westernbahn, whose trains drive through a breathtaking landscape.
