A 13-year-old girl missing in Dallas, Texas was found trapped in a shed in Davidson, North Carolina, more than 1000 miles from her home.
She was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a man she met online, according to a Davidson County police report.
“The content of the chat corresponded to seduction and contact for sexual purposes”, can we read in the document.
Video cameras near the victim’s residence picked up footage of a vehicle linked to an address in Davidson, North Carolina.
Police investigators were then able to work with the FBI to arrest the suspect and locate the teenager, who showed no signs of physical injury when authorities arrived.
The latter first was taken to hospital for her condition to be assessed, before returning to Texas.
The suspect, a 34-year-old man, was arrested before being formally charged.
He faces eight counts including one for kidnapping, one for human trafficking and two for rape of a child.
