The very good news of this appointment is that Mr. Salissou has spent a large part of his professional life serving and promoting this institution.
Thus from October 18, 2018 to March 9, 2023, Mr. Mamane Salissou was Director of Radiocommunications at the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and Post (ARCEP).
In this capacity, he was in charge of the management and planning of the radio frequency spectrum as well as the control of its use and the conformity control of radio equipment.
He also acted as interim CEO in his absence.
From October 17, 2017 to October 18, 2018, he was Director of Pool Studies and Analyzes at the Telecommunications and Postal Regulatory Authority (ARTP)
In this capacity, his mission was to identify and analyze the challenges and issues that arise in the regulation of telecommunications and the post office.
From July 17, 2016 to October 16, 2017, he was Acting Sector Director for Telecommunications at ARTP. He was responsible for the coordination and supervision of all regulatory activities in the telecommunications sector.
From 2015 to July 16, 2016, he was Head of Technical Control and Inspection Department at ARTP.
He was responsible for the Quality of Service Control of telecom operators and other contractual obligations contained in their specifications.
He was also Head of Spectrum Control Service at ARTP. He was in charge of handling complaints of frequency jamming for the Conformity Control of Radioelectric Installations and Control of the use of the Frequency Spectrum.
From 2005-2013, he was an engineer in charge of spectrum management at the Multisectoral Regulatory Authority.
It handled the processing of frequency assignment requests, the billing of frequency spectrum users and the frequency spectrum control.
It is therefore a seasoned and experienced specialist who has been promoted to continue the work of modernizing arcep.
Specialized in Digital Regulation at Télécom ParisTech in France and a Telecommunications Engineer with a technical option at the Ecole Supérieure des Télécommunications (ESMT) in Dakar Senegal, the new Managing Director will put all his expertise at the disposal of Arcep.
