Inter endured in “Dragão”.

Inter advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in twelve years, as they withstood the pressure of Porto and the red-hot Dragao to earn a clean draw, while they had won 1-0 at Meazza.

It was a frustrating night for Dragons fans in a sold-out stadium as the Portuguese champions tried in vain to erase the one goal gap that separated them from a first-leg draw.

For its part, Inter did nothing more than expected in order to preserve the score of the first match: disciplined tactically and organized defensively, it was content to keep the “nil” in Andre Onana’s goal.

The Nerazzurri didn’t face a serious threat until late in the match (9 minutes played), but in extra time they were under a lot of pressure and needed the help of luck to avoid a goal and extra time.

In the 90’+5 Mendi Taremi “marked” the right post of Inter and a few seconds later, in the same phase, Marko Grujic sent the ball to the crossbar (!), while two minutes later Pepe was sent off.

Somehow Inter Milan will be in the quarter-final draw, along with Milan’s other team, AC Milan.
