Malawi: at least 66 people killed following another passage of Cyclone Freddy

(Rfi) – At least 66 people were killed in Malawi following a new passage of Cyclone Freddy in southern Africa, according to a new report advanced on March 13, 2023 by the local Red Cross. “66 people died in Malawi, 93 injured and 16 people are missing due to Tropical Cyclone Freddy which affected more than 2,115 people,” the Malawi Red Cross Society said on its Twitter account. On the way to being classified as the longest cyclone ever recorded by meteorologists, Freddy had already affected Madagascar and Mozambique at the end of February.
