A Japanese cyberpunk atmosphere invites itself into Fortnite with MEGA.
Subtitled MEGAthis new season of Fortnite adds many new places to explore on the island of the Battle Royale of the American publisher Epic Games. The most notable being MEGA City, a futuristic Tokyo-inspired metropolis with lots of neon lights as well as various buildings. Scattered everywhere, rails allow players to move quickly. Other new places of interest are Steamy Springs, Drift Ridge, and Kenjutsu Crossing.
The MEGA battle pass includes brand new skins like Renzo the Destroyer’s fancy outfit, streetwear savant Thunder, sleek and casual Highwire as well as original Fortnite cosmetics. Later in the season, fans of the Battle Royale and anime series will be able to unlock Eren Jaeger, the famous protagonist of Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan manga.

MEGA City isn’t the only futuristic city to visit in Fortnite’s MEGA Season:
In the call for Cybercity, we challenged creators to create dynamic islands straight out of a cyber future. What these creators didn’t know was that it was inspired by Mega City! Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 MEGA Gameplay
Epic Games made some major changes to Fortnite’s weapon pool with MEGA:
- A kinetic blade for making repulsive slashes
- An assault rifle with a devastating silencer, a discreet and very precise automatic weapon
- A pest specialized shotgun that hits hard and loud
- An overclocked pulse rifle
Epic Games invites players to move around MEGA City with the two-seater Rogue Bike or the four-seater Nitro Drifter. But streets aren’t the only way to get around, as in addition to rails, players can skate around enemy buildings.
