“With Farmi, you can’t go wrong”

Alain de Cuypère is a grain farmer in Pierre-Levée, in Seine-et-Marne. It produces on 170 ha, 50% of which is wheat as well as crops under contract, including mustard. He introduced the species in 2020 at the instigation of Soufflet Agriculture, which was seeking to increase production in France. “Mr. de Cuypère appreciates the fact of diversifying crops on his farm because it allows for better rotation”advises Didier Jaquet, Culture Relations Agent in the Brie Picardie Region of Soufflet Agriculture, who suggested the establishment of Dijon mustard. “It’s a plant that behaves relatively well in our land, welcomes Alain de Cuypère, it does not clog drains. This year, it has developed well despite the presence of flea beetles and pollen beetles”. The first harvest having been “middle to upper middle”the farmer decided to transform the trial. “The installation was carried out following the signing of the contract, emphasizes Alain de Cuypère, “because we can’t afford to plant mustards without a contract”.

A new relationship thanks to the Farmi app

The grain grower sells his produce via the Farmi application. “Insofar as we are detached, thanks to Farmi, from all the marketing of crops that depend on world prices, we are no longer compelled to discuss sales or market prices with our CRA. He is satisfied to be able to discuss technical points or long-term strategies with him. The application is indeed updated every fifteen minutes, ” it’s reassuring, continues Alain de Cuypère, you are not there to call your technician every five minutes to find out what the price of the goods is”. On his application he triggers, when he decides, the sale in real time. For him, in addition to the time saved, “It’s much simpler, as soon as we validate, we sell and we don’t talk regarding it anymore”. Didier Jaquet agrees, “Fami frees us time to talk regarding something else”. The technician appreciates being able to devote himself to the technical monitoring of crops, “talk regarding fertilizer, supply and seed markets”.

With Farmi, you can’t go wrong

On Farmi, farmers can sell their goods anytime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. They validate the weight, one truck per 30 tons. “The validation is done via the phone, we receive a contract in stride, everything is written black on white, we can’t go wrong”, slice Alain de Cuypère. The application also offers a link to the farmi.com site which lists all the products marketed by Soufflet Agriculture: phytosanitary products, PPE. Orders are processed by Didier Jaquet who can thus follow his customers’ purchases easily.

Farmi, farm management in your pocket

Farmi is a free application, launched in November 2017 by Soufflet agriculture. Its many features make it a pilot tool in the management of its operation.

Crop monitoring

Accurate weather and a rain radar, reliable over the next three hours, contribute to good crop monitoring. In addition, technical sheets allow the farmer to know if the conditions are favorable for the type of intervention planned. The disease forecasting decision support tool Avizio is integrated into Farmi.

The Farmi application gives access to a daily market note, delivered before 10:45 a.m., as well as consultation of Euronext and Chicago quotations, updated every quarter of an hour. They are supplemented by the physical quotations observed by the Soufflet experts on departure from the major French ports. These tools aim to help the farmer to sell his productions, directly from Farmi. The contract is validated via a secure code sent by SMS and then sent by email. Contracts can then be tracked from the app.

Farmi.com is an e-commerce website specializing in the sale of agricultural products: seeds, fertilizers, plant protection products, various equipment, fuels, agricultural services, animal feed products, etc. The products offered are those of the Soufflet Group and the suppliers it has selected.
