“We had an offer for Jose Cordoba for 2.5 million euros from a Russian club. The owner of this club is a person from the close circle of Vladimir Putin. We had absolutely no guarantee that we might get the money. their hair stood on end.” The bomb was thrown on the BNT airwaves by the majority owner of Levski football team – Nasko Sirakov. As is known, a transfer dispute broke out around the “blue” club.
“There is no reason why we should be denied a license. We held fruitful meetings with the management of the NRA. Levski’s only problem is the NRA. Over 4 million BGN license obligations were paid. Levski has a turnover of 18 million BGN for last year. This is certainly the most – the live club in Bulgaria, thanks to the general sponsor and the fans”, said Sirakov.
The former football national revealed that the dissatisfaction of the executive director Ivaylo Ivkov is due to the fact that he will have less funds to work with. “There is interest in the shares. It is normal that Ivaylo Ivkov is not happy, because at some point he will have less funds. There can always be changes in the management of the club. I have no personal differences with Ivaylo Ivkov. We think alike on many issues. I prefer the people who work with me to look in the direction in which I also look. I look in the good of Levski. Probably Ivo also looks in that direction,” he added.
Nasko Sirakov also commented on the failed deal with United Group. “United Group also held several meetings with the NRA and they were calm. Now we have decided that this is the fastest way to get money into the club. United Group is too big a company for me to discuss and blame them. They have spent serious sums on this infamous audit that was being done. I have not doubted their desire to acquire the controlling stake,” he added.
