A man who smuggled gold wrapped around his wrists was arrested

An Indian Airlines employee who smuggled gold from Bahrain to India by wrapping gold on his wrists was caught red-handed.

According to Indian media, a member of the staff of Indian Airlines was caught red-handed while smuggling gold from Bahrain at the airport of Kochi in the state of Kerala.

Cabin crew Shafi Sharif took an innovative approach to smuggle gold, arriving from Bahrain, Shafi Sharif wore gold wrapped around the wrists of both his arms.

Detained by customs officials on arrival at the airport, Shafi Sharaf had 1487 grams of gold wrapped around his arms while traveling from Bahrain.

The young man’s plan was to wrap gold around his wrists, cover the gold with his sleeve, and pass through the green channel of customs clearance reserved for travelers who do not have any luggage for customs clearance.

However, the Customs Commission had already received information that a crew member of an Indian Airlines flight from Bahrain to Kochi was illegally carrying gold with him. Sharaf was arrested.

The accused had reached Kochi from Bahrain at 8:30 pm, but the customs officials searched and recovered the gold from him and arrested him and in less than 2 hours he was handed over to the security wing of the customs.
