Budapest: Dozens of vehicles collided in Hungary, injuring several people and setting fire to several vehicles. The incident happened on Saturday. The collision involving five tractor-trailers and 37 other vehicles happened on the M1 highway 15 miles (25 km) west of the Hungarian capital, Budapest, police said.
19 vehicles caught fire and 36 people were injured in the collision. Police said that 13 of them are in serious condition. Fire extinguished. Four rescue helicopters and fire and rescue teams from several nearby cities have reached the spot to treat the injured.
Hungary’s National Directorate for Disaster Protection said in a statement. Traffic was restricted on both sides of the M1 as recovery and clean-up operations continued into the evening.
