To attract caregivers to medical deserts, local authorities are increasing aid of all kinds. But are they effective?

Oopen a nursing home, offer financial aid for the installation of new doctors or health professionals… In its latest report, the Court of Audit scrutinizes the levers available to local authorities (regions, departments, community of municipalities, etc.) to attract caregivers to medical deserts. The magistrates consider that these interventions are « too dispersed, far removed from the concrete difficulties of the patients”.
