A man, visibly alone and aged 74, had taken refuge in his home, rue Paul Tassart, in the Fleurusien center, and made threatening remarks. Alerted, the local police of the Brunau area intervened. It closed the accesses to the two streets.
The GSA (Special support group) of Charleroi was called on the spot in turn, as well as a team from Ores.
After long negotiations, the man finally surrendered to the authorities without violence: he was taken care of and had to be transported to a hospital. The reasons for the act committed by this man born in 1949 remain unclear: it seems, without it being possible to confirm, that he wanted to be heard by a judge, or in any case by the judicial authorities, following facts of which he was allegedly the victim. Furious at not being heard, he would have sealed himself off at home, triggering all this deployment of force.
The man was not known to the judicial authorities.
