New on Netflix. Since March 8, it is now possible to customize the subtitles on the streaming platform, reports several specialized media.
Users can now choose three sizes: small, medium and large. The text color can also be changed. Choose between white text on a black background, black text on a white background, or yellow text on a black background.
Until now, customizing subtitles was only possible on the web version and on Apple TV. Netflix was thus behind its main competitors, Prime Video and Disney+, which had been offering this option for a while.

Some languages excluded from customization
Currently, subtitle customization is not available for all languages. Subtitles in Arabic, Japanese, Romanian, Hebrew, Korean, Mandarin and Thai cannot benefit from these developments.
According to a 2019 study by Verizon Media and Publicis Media, 80% of Americans said they were more likely to finish a video if it had captions.
