MANAMA, 11th March, WAM/ The delegation of the UAE Parliamentary Division, headed by His Excellency Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council, participated in the coordination meetings of the Islamic and Asian Geopolitical Group on the sidelines of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
During the meeting of the Islamic Group, all the topics on the agenda of the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union were reviewed, in addition to discussing the most important issues and situations on the Arab and Islamic arenas, in order to exchange views on the issues raised, and coordinate positions on them.
The meeting of the Islamic Group was attended by members of the Federal National Council delegation, His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Parliamentary Division of the Federal National Council in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and Dr. Sheikha Obaid Al Tunaiji, Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi, Dr. Hawa Saeed Al Mansouri, Suhail Nakhaira Al Afari, Members of the National Council, Dr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al-Nuaimi, Secretary-General, Afra Rashid Al-Basti, Assistant Secretary-General for Parliamentary Communication, and Tariq Ahmed Al-Marzouqi, Assistant Secretary-General for Council Presidency Affairs.
During the Islamic coordination meeting, His Excellency Saqr Ghobash stressed the importance of coordination between geopolitical groups to reach consensus on issues of common concern at the Inter-Parliamentary Union conference.
On the other hand, His Excellency Marwan Al Muhairi, Sheikha Al Tunaiji and Dr. Hawa Al Dahhak, members of the Parliamentary Division delegation, members of the Federal National Council, participated in the coordination meeting of the Asian Parliamentary Group in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, to present the most important topics for discussion and research before the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
