Céline Fremault, leader of the Engagés in the Brussels Parliament, felt the mustard showing in her nose this morning when she read in La Libre an article describing the meeting of the Brussels government this Thursday.
Indeed, in an attempt to get out of the Josaphat crisis, environmentalists have put on the table a list “potential sites to develop”, by proposing to change the land use software, via “a climatic PRAS (regional land use plan)”. The goal: to establish a “concrete stop”.

”Not only has the spectacle offered by the government on the Josaphat file been distressing for almost a year, with small clashes through interposed interviews, deleterious tweets. But now for 48 hours, Ecolo has been launching its new spring disc, “le Pras climatic”, on a loop. And this, while he rejected the mouth in heart with the majority the recent text of the Engaged aimed at reviewing the tools framing the development of the territory of Brussels to integrate the climate and environmental problem, on January 16th., asserts Céline Fremault, Brussels Minister for the Environment during the previous legislature. “I note once once more that Ecolo has all the nerve, combined with a detailed amnesia on the texts tabled and voted in Parliament! Céline Fremault’s anger is explained by the fact that, according to her, environmentalists are pretending “to invent once more the wire to cut the butter with inspired tunes” on Jehoshaphat.
A new proposal was also tabled by the centrist party on Monday, March 6 to modify the 2012 ordinance on nature conservation, and establish a Committee of Biodiversity Experts with the Council for the Environment.

And this Friday morning, the MR’s request to urgently discuss their motion for a resolution to create a regional nature reserve on the Josaphat wasteland was rejected by the majority.

The blocking of the Josaphat file is unworthy in view of the current challenges of the Region”, concludes Céline Fremault. “If certain parties of the majority think that it is essential to be already in the electoral campaign 24 hours a day while ignoring the general interest of the people of Brussels, I can guarantee that they will only have their eyes to cry the day following the 2024 election when discovering the electoral results of the extremes.
