This is the shortest speech in the history of the Oscars
In 1969, Alfred Hitchcock, one of the greatest film directors of his day, received the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award Statuette. Contrary to what was thought, his speech was limited to only a couple of words, also winning the title for the shortest speech.
“Thank You”, were the words he said into the microphone and returned to his place.
