ABXplore Audiences in Shape in February

Ranked only in ninth place among the most watched channels in French-speaking Belgium last year with 1.58% market share, ABXplore experienced a record month of February, with a market share of 2.29% on the the entire public (4 + ) and 3.80% on its reference commercial target (PRA 18-54, i.e. the person responsible for purchases aged 18 to 54), according to a press release from the channel.

The second channel of the Mediawan group beats Plug RTL on the two targets for the 5th consecutive month and for the first time in its history is ahead of Club RTL (3.56% on PRA 18-54) and is getting closer to Tipik (which was all similarly to 6.01% average market share on PRA 18-54 in 2022).

“Obviously, the programs offered by ABXplore are enjoying undeniable success in a context that some consider to be gloomy for television”, enthuses Philippe Zrihen, director of ABXplore.

What works? Wrestling broadcast on Wednesdays/Saturdays, but also shows like Wheeler Dealers France (Monday evening), The Best Blacksmith (Tuesday evening), The aces of towing (Thursday evening) and Ghost Hunters + Alien Theory Friday night.

This is surprising when the operator VOO decided to downgrade the channel from 16th position in its numbering to… 87th on February 28th. TV5 Monde took its place. At Proximus Pickx, it still occupies channel 21.

When we know the importance of appearing in the first 20 numbers for the channels, this demotion at VOO risks having a negative influence on future audiences.
