Arizona Cardinals‘ WR DeAndre Hopkins has been rumored to leave the team with many different franchises interested to sign him. He already played for the Houston Texans and rumors of the Dallas Cowboys attempting to sign him are growing strongeer as the days go by. Amid these trade rumors, Hopkins was recently spotted in Texas hanging out with none other than Dez Bryant, who currently plays for the Dallas Cowboys. Bryant was hanging out with Hopkins on Monday and eventually appeared on his Instagram live from that same day. Hopkins was quick to send all Dallas Cowboys fans a message.
I keep hearing y’all say my name around here. What’s up? Talk to me.
DeAndre Hopkins
All the Dallas Cowboys fans who were watching Dez BRyant?s IG live were instantly thrilled for what Hopkins just said. Most of them want him to play for the Cowboys and many of them were already proposing trades in the comments. Currently, Hopkins is under contract for at least two more years with the Cardinals and his cap hits would be $19.5 million in 2023. By 2024, it will go down to $14.9 million with an average annual salary of regarding $27 million. For the Cowboys, getting Hopkins sounds like a good idea simply due to his stats as a WR.
What regarding Hopkins’ PED suspension?
One of DeAndre Hopkins’ biggest problems was his suspension over the use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs). He missed six games due to that but he also lost the trust of many Arizona Cardinals fans. In terms of numbers, he racked up 64 receptions for 717 yards and three touch downs in nine games. With a quarterback like Dak PRescott playing besides him, those numbers would shoot up to the skies. But that PED issue needs to be addressed if Hopkins ever gets to become a Dallas Cowboys player. The organization can’t afford more scandals than the ones they already have.
