Facilitator of the East African community within the framework of the Nairobi Process, the former President of the Republic of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta is expected this Friday in Kinshasa.
The program of his brief 48-hour stay includes a meeting with the President of the Republic Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo.
Uhuru Kenyatta arrives in Kinshasa at a time when the security and humanitarian situation is going from bad to worse around Goma due to the series of deadly attacks perpetrated by Rwandan troops with their cronies from the M23 terrorist group.
Nearly a million people are forced to leave the areas under the control of foreign troops to find refuge around Goma in very critical situations.
While the whole world was waiting for a ceasefire from the RDF/M23 troops on Tuesday March 7, they decided to defy the international community by intensifying their attacks around the city of Goma.
With the President of the Republic, the Facilitator Uhuru should also discuss the continuation of the Nairobi process following the three consecutive meetings in the Kenyan capital.
