After a long time! Microsoft has done good with MS Word

Finally, Microsoft is doing something right with Microsoft Office. The company adds the keyboard shortcut to MS Word shortcut keys. I think this is a long overdue addition, and I’d like to get my hands on it before anyone else does. To be concise, this will allow you to paste something in plain text.

Moreover, it will simply remove all formatting styles on a certain text. Press Ctrl + Shift + V as a shortcut key. From now on, the feature will be available for Mac and PC users using the beta version of Word.

Ctrl + Shift + V will remove the formatting and paste the plain text:

If you remember, you can perform similar operations using the contextual ribbon. This feature was there a long time ago, but we were deprived of a shortcut key. The ribbon also lets you match document formatting; use it as plain text or keep the original formatting.

Personally, I like this shortcut feature because I don’t have to wait for the contextual ribbon to appear. You have your opinion, and you might not like it. The ISO keyboard layout may confuse you, but all is well when you know the location of the Shift key.

ANSI layout keyboards are relatively good because Ctrl + Shift + V is easy to press. I have to say, it’s an amazing addition, and more and more people will surely use this feature if it’s available out of the box. Microsoft will use its PowerToys program to make this feature available system-wide.

The company always uses this program to publicize nifty features to Windows. If you are a Mac user, you can use the Pure Paste app to use the xerox copy of this feature. Mac users will need to use the Command + V hotkey to paste the text in plain text. However, to keep the formatting unchanged, they will have to put extra effort even with MS Word shortcut keys.
