Lionel Messi is planning a third visit to Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Minister of Tourism announced that the famous soccer player, Lionel Messi, will visit the Kingdom later this month, which is the third visit of the Argentine star in less than a year, amid interest from the Saudi Professional League in his joining a local club.

The Argentine, who crowned his illustrious career last year with winning the World Cup in Qatar, will visit the kingdom for a holiday, said Saudi Tourism Minister Ahmed Al-Khatib.

Al-Khatib said on Twitter: “I am pleased to welcome our tourism ambassador, his family and friends this month to enjoy our most beautiful tourist destinations, communicate with our people, and enjoy unique experiences.”

The Saudi official revealed the visit, hours before Messi’s French club, Paris Saint-Germain, left the Champions League on Wednesday.

The oil-rich country appointed Messi as an ambassador for tourism last year, and he visited Jeddah last May, before returning, in January, to play a friendly match with Paris Saint-Germain once morest a team of Saudi League stars, when he faced his great rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
