For the attention of drivers: driving conditions are also difficult on the main roads in the section from Tukum to Usmai

Driving is currently very difficult on local roads in the vicinity of Cēsi, Jēkabpils, Rēzekne and Ludza.

Difficult driving conditions on the country’s main highways are:

• on the Ventspils highway (A10) section from Tukum to Usmai;
• on the Jēkabpils–Rēzekne–Ludza–Russian border (Terehova) (A12) section from Rēzekne to Zilupe.

Drivers must be especially careful when choosing a speed appropriate to the condition of the road surface and keeping a safe distance from the vehicles in front.

The mass restrictions introduced during the recent rainfall and thaw remain on gravel roads, mostly in Kurzeme and Zemgale. Vehicle mass restrictions have been introduced on 106 sections of gravel roads. A map with sections where restrictions are set can be found here.
