Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah confirmed today, Thursday, that “the resistance in all of Lebanon started from a position of hope, and said that it might wipe out the Israeli era.”

In his speech on the anniversary of the founding of the Islamic Foundation for Education and the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi, Sayyed Nasrallah added, “The enemy tried to create a spirit of despair in the year 1982 following its invasion of Lebanon.”

He pointed out that “the resistance is the hope that achieved quick victories once morest the Israeli enemy,” explaining that “the resistance continued in 2000 with this hope, and in 2006 the resistance also withstood with hope.”

And Sayyed Nasrallah stated that “one of the most important means in the past as well, and with the aim of strengthening our spirit of despair, was killing, massacres, displacement and home demolitions.” However, “a few years ago, it became clear that the project of the new Middle East and America’s project in Iraq had fallen due to hope and resistance.”

In the context, Sayyed Nasrallah touched on the occasion of the Bir al-Abd massacre that took place on March 8, 1985, stressing that “the target in the bombing was His Eminence Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Hussein Fadlallah.”

Sayyed Nasrallah added, “The decision of that massacre was American, and another was regional and Lebanese. More than 75 martyrs were martyred and 270 wounded, while the majority of the martyrs were women and children, noting that the massacre took place on International Women’s Day.”

And the Secretary-General of Hezbollah continued, “The goal of the Bir al-Abd massacre was to spread terror and despair in our hearts, and the assassination of Mr. Fadlallah, if it happened, would have been a severe blow to us, but Mr. Fadlallah survived by God’s grace.”

He pointed out that “some of those who claim sovereignty in Lebanon have their hands involved in the bombing of the Bir al-Abd massacre.”

Sayyed Nasrallah addressed everyone who threatens the Lebanese people with death and siege, saying: “We do not surrender to killing, and our will cannot be shaken at all, and we will not feel weak or weak because we trust in God, our people, our generations, and our youth.”

And he stressed that “the United States is a partner in corruption in Lebanon,” noting that it “prevents placing deposits in Lebanon, as well as preventing investment and aid.”

He added, “In the political and living crisis in Lebanon, the main message should be not to despair, because the result of despair is surrender,” explaining that “what is required is surrender, but do not expect surrender or submission from us.”

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that “the doors to a solution exist, and we must not surrender to international and regional conditions,” pointing out that “those who surrendered were not spared.”

Sayyed Nasrallah concluded his speech by saying, “We must show the spirit of cooperation, courage, and will, for cowards do not liberate a land or change a reality, and we hope, out of hope, that these generations will be graduated from the schools of the Islamic Education Foundation.”
