Stock market performance: the prices of Burkinabe companies fell in 2022

In alphabetical order, Bank of Africa Burkina Faso saw its price lose 989 FCFA, this, in one year, or 15.9%. If in December 2021, the average share price of Bank of Africa Burkina Faso was 6,221 CFA francs, it fell and posted a value of 5,231 FCFA in December 2022. It was 5,287 CFA francs in November 2022 , a monthly decline of 1%. The total value of the securities exchanged amounts to 58,141,375 CFA francs.

Regarding the share of Coris Bank International Burkina Faso, its average price in December 2022 was 8,450 CFA francs, once morest 9,428 in December 2021. In annual variation, the price fell by 978 CFA francs (- 10.4%). Between November and December 2022, the price suffered a loss of 3.4%. It went from 8,748 CFA francs in November 2022 to 8,450 CFA francs. The total value of the securities traded amounts to 121,599,885 CFA francs.

As for the value of the ONATEL-BF share, it fell slightly by 1% to 3,390 CFA francs in December 2022, once morest 3,424 a month earlier. The total value of the securities traded amounts to 233,481,105 CFA francs. Year on year, the price fell by 495 CFA francs (-12.7%). Thus, in December 2021, Onatel-Bf posted an average price of 3,885 FCFA, once morest 3,390 FCFA a year later.

For the Uemoa zone, it should be noted that the BRVM Composite index increased by 1%, coming out on average at 197.25 points, once morest 195.36 points the previous month. Compared to December 2021, the index remains stable.

Market capitalization, on the other hand, increased for stocks and bonds during the month of December 2022. Stock capitalization is up 2.1% compared to November 2022, standing at 6.005, 7 billion CFA francs. Compared to the same month of 2021, the value of shares traded is up 1.2%. As for the capitalization of bonds, it stands at 8,856.6 billion CFA francs, up 116.6 billion CFA francs (+1.3%). Compared to the 1.6% increase in November 2022, the rise has deteriorated by 0.2 percentage points. On a year-on-year basis, bond capitalization increased by 24.0%.

Sancfis Faso, the subsidiary of the telecommunications group Sancfis (Ex Alink Telecom) has entered the BRVM. It was February 15, 2023, during a ceremony in Ouagadougou. The Sancfis Group subsidiary becomes the first Burkinabè SME admitted to the third compartment of the West African Regional Stock Exchange.

A compartment, opened on December 19, 2017, and is intended for SMEs and companies with high growth potential. Its purpose is to provide them with access to long-term capital, in order to accelerate their growth and promote the emergence of champions in the main areas of activity within WAEMU.

At the end of the public offering process, Sancfis Faso becomes the first SME admitted to benefit from the financing mechanism that is the third compartment of the BRVM. On the occasion of this IPO, Sancfis Faso puts into circulation 1.5 million shares at a price of 600 FCFA. The subscription ends on February 28; the first listing is scheduled between March 25 and 30, 2023.

The operation values ​​the company at 3 billion FCFA (4.57 million euros), on the basis of 5 million shares in total. In 2021, Sancfis Burkina Faso generated a net profit – a very volatile item, from one year to the next – of 12.2 million FCFA (18,600 euros), on a turnover of 2.155 billion FCFA (3.2 million euros), comparable to that of the two previous years.o
