Spagnolli to Salvini: “Unworthy behavior, study before speaking” – Bolzano

BOLZANO. The statements of the leader of the Lega Matteo Salvini, pronounced in Bolzano on the issue of security in the city, «in addition to demonstrating once once more the worrying incapacity of the minister to demonstrate awareness of the institutional role it covers, are themselves the cause, for the people of Bolzano, of fears that are not justified by the facts». This was stated by the senator of the Group for Autonomies, Luigi Spagnolliwho invites the minister “to measure his words”.

«Minister Salvini should have learned that the words of a minister – adds Spagnolli – have strong consequences in the collective imagination of a population, much more than the same words said during the electoral campaign. The numbers of acts of petty crime and street violence in Bolzano they are far inferior to those of other cities comparable in size and social characteristics, and they are not even increasing».

It is a question, concludes Spagnolli, of «unbecoming behavior for a minister: study the data, before speaking, and let local administrators work in peace, avoiding destroying the climate of coexistence painstakingly built in past decades”.
