This is sad news for former Prime Minister Dr Ibrahima Kassory Fofana’s pool of lawyers. Me Ousmane Seye, bowed out following an illness in Dakar, in the Senegalese capital, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday March 09, 2023.
This great lawyer of the Dakar bar since 1985, was also a politician. He was the leader of the Republican Front, a member party of the Benno Bok Yakaar (BBY) coalition.
Me Seye, state involved in several cases in his country including that of the former Director of the Center of University Works of the University Cheikh Anta Diop (UCAD), Sitor Ndour, charged with rape.
After this announcement, the Senegalese Head of State, Macky Sall expressed his condolences through his twitter account. “I am saddened to learn today of the death of Me Ousmane Seye, lawyer and leader of a political party. I pay tribute to a distinguished lawyer and a committed and helpful public figure. To his family, to the bar and to the entire political class, I offer my heartfelt condolences,” he wrote.
