The unemployment rate in Switzerland fell to 2.1% in February, down slightly (-0.1 point) compared to the previous month, according to the latest statement from the State Secretariat for the Economy (Seco). released on Tuesday.

At the end of the month under review, 98,452 people were registered as unemployed with the regional employment offices (ORP), ie 2,324 less than in January. On an annual basis, the decline was 19,518 people (-16.5%), specifies the federal administration.

The number of job seekers amounted to 166,763 people, down by 2,753 compared to the previous month and by 35,146 (-17.4%) over one year.

The number of vacancies increased from 3,191 to more than 55,000, including more than 33,000 subject to an obligation to announce them because they belong to a sector whose unemployment rate exceeds the threshold of 5% nationwide.
