The story of this POP Collector is that of Cynthia Ann Stephanie Lauper, a pure New Yorker who grew up in the poor neighborhood of Queens. Her difficult childhood was marked by the abandonment of her father when she was 10 years old, and the arrival of a violent stepfather who terrorized her. As a teenager, she already has her own look which provokes the mockery of her comrades. Only music is his refuge. At 17, Cynthia, whom everyone now calls Cyndi, left home and high school to lead a marginal life. Faced with the violence of the street, she does not always have enough to eat and collects bad encounters…
