A 34-year-old German attacked a work colleague with a cutter knife in a commercial enterprise in Lermoos in the Ausserfern region of Tyrol on Wednesday and seriously injured him. According to the police, the victim, a 32-year-old Bulgarian, was flown to the hospital in Reutte by rescue helicopter because of the severity of the injuries, where he underwent emergency surgery. The knife attack happened around 11 a.m. According to the doctors treating him, the 32-year-old suffered a cut in the neck area around 25 centimeters long and around three centimeters deep, but it was not life-threatening.
The German fled in his car following the crime, but was arrested a little later by police officers at his home address. He is currently in police custody. For the time being, he made no statements. Another hearing is planned for Thursday. The murder weapon was seized, it said.
