This March 8 marks International Women’s Day. In this context, the Cordoba singer Vicky Barán advanced what will be her next musical release, Almaa song inspired by a close story that seeks to raise awareness regarding gender violence.
Within the framework of 8M, Barán presented a preview of what can be heard and seen on digital platforms starting next Friday.
According to the singer, the composition belongs to her and her father and tells the story “of a woman who fell madly in love with the wrong person, with whom she had a very toxic and unstable relationship that had a sad outcome.”

“Sadly, it is a true story that touched my family and me closely,” explained the singer, indicating that, out of respect for her and her family, the real names were changed.
In the video for the song, filmed in Mendiolaza and with the participation of the artist, it is announced: “When life touches us with a sad reality, the utopian and distant becomes tangible. Out of respect for those who remember you with love, ‘Alma’ is a fictional name.”
“Sweet ‘Alma’ I wanted to tell your story the day I wrote this song”, adds Barán. Then, in the introduction of the song, she is heard saying: “Violence has no gender. If he mistreats you, it’s not love. If you’re on time, I asked for help. Alma It’s just a story.”
