Here is the lot of medical equipment worth more than 40 million CFA francs that the association Argenteuil-Benin Solidarity Cooperation ”ARBECOS” chaired by the compatriot Chakira SALAMI offered on Friday, March 03, 2023 to the “Grand Hôpital of Porto-Novo”, the Ouémé-Plateau Departmental Hospital Center (CHDO).
And this gesture of solidarity and sharing is not the first on the part of ”ARBECOS” for the benefit of the CHDO. Already in September 2021, this association had been at the bedside of the patients of the said Hospital Center with sanitary equipment valued at more than 20 million CFA francs.
The equipment offered last Friday and whose quality, reliability and performance received, upstream, the OK from the Ministry of Health, were handed over to CHDO officials in the presence of the political and administrative authorities of the Municipality of Porto-Novo. and beneficiaries whose representative did not hide his joy: ” We take with immense joy these equipments offered which we badly need. We thank you for it and are committed to taking great care of it and making good use of it.”.
” All hoping that this equipment will relieve the personnel-users and the patients, I would like, on behalf of the entire CHDO community, to thank the association Argenteuil-Benin Cooperation Solidarity ”ARBECOS” and invite its ARBECOS managers not to stop on such a good path, to also look into the situation of the other health centers in the city where the needs exist… declared the mayor of Porto-Novo Charlemagne YANKOTY.
In her speech, the President of the association Argenteuil-Benin Cooperation Solidarity ”ARBECOS” Chakira SALAMI let know that an immense joy accompanies her gesture, because according to her, “… there are many sick people who need breathing apparatus for their relief. These devices can help them ».
About the ARBECOS association
The Argenteuil-Benin Coopération Solidarité ”ARBECOS” association is represented in Benin by Evelyne KOUMASSOU, President of the NGO ”Nouvelle Famille”. It was created in France in June 2013. Chakira SALAMI, who is its President, is nicknamed Mother Theresa and currently has regarding thirty voluntary members. The mode of operation of ”ARBECOS” is simple and participative. It proceeds by the requests for donations and the contribution by its members to go to the aid of its target.
Helping orphaned children and students to have joy remains the initial objective of the ”ARBECOS” Association. But her field of action has widened to donations of medical equipment because in her permanent quest to help children in difficult circumstances and orphans, Chakira SALAMI, teaching assistant at the University of Pari, came across donors of medical materials and has therefore seized the opportunity ever since.
Remember that in 2015, this lady with a big heart had, with the Foundation ” Heart to Heart “distributed school furniture in several communes of Benin and made various donations for the benefit of the orphanage Tree of Life This means that Chakira SALAMI is always present when we talk regarding social work, especially towards vulnerable people.
And as the Mayor of Porto-Novo pointed out, the expectations, the needs are great and therefore, the challenges of solidarity and sharing of the ARBECOS association too.
