West Indies coach is Samuel Badri

West Indies appointed former leg-spinner Samuel Badri as assistant coach. Badri will perform this duty in the ODI and T20 series during their tour of South Africa. The three-match ODI series once morest South Africa will start from March 16. Then there will be a three-match T20 series.

Badri previously worked as West Indies’ spin bowling consultant. He also worked as a coach for IPL franchise Delhi Capitals.

After becoming a coach, he said, ‘I am looking forward to working with the players. I have played with many of them. I know many of them. The tour to South Africa is certainly challenging. I hope that everyone can use everyone’s experience to face that challenge.

Badri, 42, was a member of the West Indies team that won the 2012 and 2016 T20 World Cups.

From 2012 to 2018, he played 52 T20 matches for Windies and took 56 wickets. The economy rate was 6.17. In all, he played 197 T20s and took 187 wickets. Economy 6.02. He also played 12 First Class and 33 List ‘A’ matches.

The West Indies team is currently playing the second of the two-match Test series once morest South Africa. They lost the first Test at Centurion by 87 runs.
