When President Yoon Seok-yeol appeared at the People’s Power National Convention on the 8th, the musical “Les Miserables” with such lyrics was played without singing. On this day, President Yoon attended the party convention to elect the next leadership, such as the people’s power representative and the supreme council. When President Yoon appeared, most of the attendees stood up and applauded and cheered. Members of the People’s Power party chanted “Yun Seok-yeol” and took pictures of President Yoon. It is not the first time that a president has attended a party convention in a conservative party. Then-President Lee Myung-bak in 2008 and then-President Park Geun-hye in 2014 each attended the party convention.

President Yoon attended the 3rd National Party Convention held at KINTEX, Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province on this day and delivered a congratulatory speech, saying, “We must never misuse the crisis of the country and the party as a political opportunity.” Don’t do it, don’t be afraid,” he said. President Yoon applauded and responded when Chairman Lee Hun-seung of the People’s Power National Convention said, “The Yoon Seok-yeol government cannot work properly because of the legislative dictatorship of the huge opposition party that is holding back everything in the National Assembly.” New Jeans’ “Hype boy” was selected as the exit music for President Yoon.
