They enabled the refunctionalization work of the ICU of the Independencia Hospital

Lieutenant Governor Carlos Silva Neder; The Chief of Staff, Elías Suárez and the Minister of Health, Natividad Nassif, inaugurated this Tuesday followingnoon the comprehensive refunctionalization work of the Intensive Care Unit (UTI) of the Independencia Hospital.

Also present were the Undersecretary of Health, Cesar Monti; the director of Primary Health Care, Marta Tarchini and the director of the Regional Hospital, Gerardo Montenegro, who were received by the executive directors of the Independencia Hospital, Andrea Dorado, and the administrative director, Dolores Ferreyra; in addition to the coordinator of Human Resources, Carolina López Ávila and Pablo Secco head of the UTI.

After the ribbon cutting, the delegation toured the facilities, where Dr. Dorado explained details of the renewed service that has two rooms with the capacity to provide negative or positive air pressure for the isolation of diseases that are transmitted by air , which makes it the first hospital in the province to have these units.

“There are two beds in isolation boxes that have unique characteristics that prevent the spread of the germ that makes the place safe for everyone,” said Dorado and highlighted the “sincere and genuine” decision of Governor Gerardo Zamora to invest in health.

For her part, Minister Nassif said: “It has highly technologically developed equipment that will go hand in hand with the human sense that medicine should have and that the health team that works in this hospital attest to their vocation, but also to put knowledge into social utility so that the people who come to the hospital appropriate it”.

In this regard, Silva Neder highlighted: “This is a sample of the strong investment that the governor makes with concrete facts, putting public health at the service of the community, with a team of professionals committed to what they do and in this way they puts the province at the forefront”.

Lastly, Suárez ratified the commitment of the provincial government to continue investing in Health throughout the entire territory of Santiago.

Also in this place, new support rooms were built, with strategic security barriers to reduce risks associated with medical care.

The new ICU complies with the safety standards and recommendations for the patient, therefore it has the adaptations for the needs and activities of each of the users: patients, medical staff, nurses and family members.
