Game Give Me Toilet Paper! use switch control on toilet paper roll

Think of an unusual game that makes use of an unusual control. After experiences like Back Scratching Simulator 2023 —in which a keyboard is used as a back scratcher—, the Japanese production Give Me Toilet Paper! appears, a Japanese game on Switch that invites the player to put his Joycon in the middle of a roll of toilet paper.

The experience is so different that the developers themselves made video tutorials to explain the concept that, in practice, seems quite stimulating. The idea is to use the Nintendo console’s controller motion sensor to balance the roll on a flat surface (like a board) and thus control the virtual toilet paper roll on the screen, making it roll sideways and face the challenges of each level.

The mechanics give a new perspective to a game that, essentially, mixes puzzle and platform so that the protagonist, finally, has access to toilet paper at a crucial moment in life.

“‘Oh my God! There’s no toilet paper!’ Let’s help a man in trouble! You are the common toilet paper in every house, but you can roll it all you want. And now there’s a man in need of toilet paper! You start from the bathroom ceiling and go to the man. But all kinds of pitfalls await you along the way!” reads the game’s synopsis on the Switch store.

Launched earlier this month, the game is available for R$24 on the eShop, and is by Takahiro Miyazawa, the same creator of Red White Yellow, a Tetris-style puzzle game that mixes musical mechanics.
