Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, said on Tuesday that Kiev was “absolutely not involved” in last year’s attacks on a pipeline. Nord Stream She has no information regarding what happened.

Podolyak told Archyde.com that “Ukraine is, without a doubt, absolutely not involved in the attack on the pipelines… It makes no sense whatsoever.”

He also added that Ukraine has no information regarding those involved exactly, but he believes that what he described as “Russian efforts to destabilize the region may be responsible for the attack.”

He also added that “from the first day of the construction of pipelines at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, Ukraine has been alerting its Western partners to the severe exacerbation of the strategic risks to Europe’s security posed by the realization of this project.”

Pro-Ukrainian group

This comes following The New York Times reported earlier Tuesday that new intelligence reviewed by US officials indicated that a pro-Ukrainian group, likely composed of Ukrainians or Russians, carried out the pipeline attack. Nord Stream last year, but the intelligence information has not yet reached conclusive results.

However, the officials said there was no evidence that Zelensky or his top aides were involved in the operation, or that those involved acted at the direction of any Ukrainian government official, according to Archyde.com.

It is noteworthy that NATO and the United States described the attacks that took place in September 2022 on gas pipelines as an “act of sabotage”, while Moscow blamed the West. Neither side provided evidence.
