Akraf Hakimi (Paris Saint-Germain), who played a big role in Morocco’s semifinal at last year’s World Cup in Qatar, is known to be under investigation for sexual assault.
According to the BBC on the 28th of last month (local time), a 24-year-old woman claimed that Hakimi sexually assaulted her at her home in Paris, France on the 26th.
The woman who reported the incident to the police has not yet filed a complaint.
Prosecutors in Nanterre, west of Paris, declined to comment, but confirmed that an investigation had begun.
Hakimi, who was born in Spain, played for Morocco, the country of her parents, at the World Cup held in Qatar last year and was the first player in Africa and the Arab world to advance Morocco to the semifinals.
Hakima was recognized for his achievement and was selected as one of the best 11 men’s teams of the year at the Best FIFA Awards.
However, if Hakimi’s sexual assault charges are admitted, he will fall from a Moroccan hero to a sexual assault criminal in just three months.
Hakimi and Paris Saint-Germain have not responded publicly regarding the incident.
Previously, Hakimi received attention, and his wife, actress Hiba Avk, also became a hot topic.
Abuq, a famous European actress who appeared in the films ‘Madress’ and ‘I Killed My Husband’, also decorated the cover of Vogue Arabia in October last year. Since then, she has appeared in various fashion magazines and gained popularity.
Hakimi, who was born in Spain as an immigrant, met Abuk four years ago and officially married Abuk following giving birth to their first son in 2020, two years later. Earlier this year she gave birth to her second son.
