Anna Orosz, the representative of the Parliament of Momentum, also reacted to the way Ferenc Gyurcsány, the president of the Democratic Coalition, congratulated the newly sworn-in representative of the party, Judit Ráczné Földi.
The former prime minister spectacularly congratulated the politician, holding his hands and leaning close. The representatives of the ruling party, including Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, welcomed the scene with a smile. Protocol expert Ibolya Grög called what happened an exaggeration.
He criticized what he saw on his social media page. As he put it, “my stomach convulses once more and once more and at the same time, and I’m thinking regarding whether this is simply a manifestation of raw jerkiness or a staged scene.”
The opposition politician also wrote: “It’s a shame that we’re at that point, that a politician – who happens to be the former prime minister of Hungary – thinks that this is okay. That it is okay to grope the body of a fellow female politician, hold her hand, whisper into her neck and ear. Despite the obvious will of the other”.
In her post, Anna Orosz also mentioned that these recordings are also seen by women who want to get out of an abusive relationship.
Abused women, the rising generation that believes in equality, and well-meaning voters are disregarded by the one who behaves like this, sets such an example, who is so incapable of self-reflection
– concluded the Momentum representative.
Ferenc Gyurcsány explained it
The president of DK was a guest of ATV on Tuesday evening, where he said that the hug was a demonstration and had been discussed in advance. The politician emphasized: it doesn’t matter what the protocol expert says, because they took part in a non-protocol event. Formally, it is a man and a woman hugging, but in reality two friends are hugging here.
According to them, the new representative is honest, if they didn’t think so, they wouldn’t allow him to sit in the parliament, “because they are such a party”. They attacked their representative, and they hugged for a long time in protest.
