It has now been a year since Russian troops landed in Ukraine to carry out an invasion, deemed illegal by the international community. A whole year, and yet the war is still in full swing. So much so that Sergey Mikheyev, a renowned political scientist in Russia, is now convinced that the majority of Kremlin members, including Vladimir Putin, will not live long enough to witness Russia’s victory in Ukraine. It is true that the state of health of the Russian president, now 70 years old, has been questioned more than once, even if no official information has been communicated on the subject.
“If we continue to proceed in this way and at this speed, you and I will not live long enough to see successes,” Sergey Mikheyev said on the set of the state television channel Russia-1. “If we move at this speed, it will last for decades. The Russian invasion has lasted longer than planned and expected, and there is no end in sight,” the political scientist continued.
According to him, Russia should put in place the simplest solution to shorten the war: prevent Western politicians from visiting Ukraine.
