Pokémon GO: Regidrago announced – everything you need to know
What kind of Pokemon is Regidrago? Regidrago is a legendary Dragon-type Pokémon and belongs to the group of so-called “Legendary Giants”, which also includes Regirock, Regice, Regieleki, and Registeel. As already mentioned, the monster was introduced with the eighth generation of Pokémon. Regidrago will appear in Pokémon GO as part of a special “Top Raid”. Only if you successfully complete this event can you catch Regidrago. We have included the trailer for the top raid here.
How do top raids work in Pokémon GO? Top Raids, also known as Legendary Raids, were first established in Pokémon GO in 2017. Top raids are basically very similar to “normal” raids. However, the bosses here are a lot harder to crack. Top Raids are announced by Raid Eggs on the world map, which take 24 hours to hatch.
Once the boss hatches from the raid egg, the top raid boss can be attacked by players for 30 minutes. But you have to be on the spot for that. To make matters worse, no one can rush to your aid via remote raid pass. So you have to be there in person with a few friends and fight Regidrago together.
You get the following bonuses from the top raid with Regidrago: If you start the raid with Regidrago, you will be allowed to participate in an exclusive time-limited research. However, each trainer can only receive the time-limited research once. Completing the research field research tasks will award you with Regirock Candies, Regice Candies, and Registeel Candies. In addition, of course, you get the chance to catch the Regidrago.

- Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 2 p.m. (local time)
- Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 5 p.m. (local time)
This is how the raid with Regidrago succeeds: If you get involved in the raid, there should definitely be at least three of you. Regidrago is a very powerful Pokémon that is best countered with Dragon, Fairy, or Ice-type attacks. In order to catch Regidrago following the raid, it is best to have Golden Raspberry and enough Hyper Balls ready.
Golden Raspberries increase your chance of catching and reduce the chance that the Regidrago will flee. They can also be used to calm the Pokemon. Hyper Balls are the most powerful Poké Balls in Pokémon GO and have a higher catch rate than other balls. They are best for catching Legendary Pokemon. Your throwing technique also plays a role. When catching, make sure to line up the glowing circle with the Pokemon to achieve a “Great” or “Excellent” throw, further increasing your chances of catching.
