Everything is directing pregnant women to doctors and hospitals, while the demand for midwives is growing across the country. Care and services still not easily accessible: midwives assist 4% of births in Quebec, compared to 25% in British Columbia. Although some Canadian provinces began to legalize the practice more than 30 years ago, the accessibility of these services remains limited, the vast majority of the time. What are the factors that make it difficult to access this care? The director of the documentary Wise and rebels, Claudie Simardwent to meet many midwives across the country.
