The court in Perm sentenced the ex-deputy of the Legislative Assembly to 4 years in prison for a brawl in a bar

The Leninsky District Court of Perm issued a verdict once morest Alexander Telepnev, a former deputy of the region’s legislative assembly. Mr. Telepnev was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 2 of Art. 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism with the use of objects used as weapons). He was sentenced to four years in prison to be served in a strict regime colony.

As the court established, the crime was committed on April 30 last year. Then Alexander Telepnev was in the bar “Natasha” and at some point, “using an insignificant reason”, began to throw dishes and furniture towards the bar counter. As a result, an employee and a visitor of the bar suffered.

Mr. Telepnev himself partially admitted his guilt. He did not deny the commission of illegal acts, but did not agree with their qualification by the investigation. So he said that he began to throw objects because of hostile relations with the staff of “Natasha”. The victims in the case stated that Alexander Telepnev apologized to them, compensated for the damage, so they have no claims.

State prosecutor Yevgeny Petukhov suggested that the court sentence the defendant to five years in a penal colony. He explained his position by the fact that Mr. Telepnev had already been convicted of causing moderate bodily harm to musician Andrei Shirman (DJ Smash), as well as for causing minor bodily harm to a 19-year-old resident of Perm. For both crimes, he was sentenced to two years and two months in a colony-settlement. Thus, Alexander Telepnev committed a relapse.

The court also issued a private ruling once morest the defenders of Mr. Telepnev. According to the prosecutor’s office, they did not appear for participation in court hearings without a valid reason.
