Venna Melinda goes to prison alone, legal counsel: Ferry Irawan is shocked


JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Ferry Irawan’s attorney, Jeffry Simatupang, said that Venna Melinda recently came to meet Ferry at the East Java Regional Police Detention Center.

When Venna arrived, Jeffry said his client was shocked.

“Yes, she (Venna Melinda) came alone. Pak Ferry was shocked to admit it to me,” said Jeffry when contacted by Kompas.com, Monday (6/3/2023).

Jeffry said Venna came and asked Ferry to admit to the alleged act of domestic violence.

“Mrs V came and asked Pak Ferry to admit what he had done. Which deeds are recognized? Mr. Ferry’s people from the beginning admitted that they did not commit domestic violence. He came to ask Pak Ferry to admit his actions in front of the media,” continued Jeffry.

Jeffry said Ferry Irawan did not want to follow Venna Melinda’s request to confess to domestic violence.

“Mr. Ferry doesn’t want to. ‘What do I need to confess? I didn’t do it from the start’. That’s what Pak Ferry said,” said Jeffry.

It is known that Venna Melinda reported Ferry Irawan on suspicion of domestic violence in January 2023 to the Kediri City Police. On Monday (9/1/2023), the report file was then transferred to the East Java Regional Police.

Ferry Irawan has now been named a suspect and is being held at the East Java Regional Police.

The latest news is that the case file for the alleged domestic violence case of Venna Melinda was returned by the East Java State High Prosecutor’s Office (Kejati) to the East Java Regional Police.

The Head of Public Relations of the East Java Regional Police, Kombes Pol Dirmanto, said that the file was declared P19, alias the file was incomplete.

“On February 21, 2023, the files were not complete or (p-19), because an additional examination was needed,” said Dirmato when contacted by Kompas.com, Monday.

However, East Java Regional Police Ditreskrimum investigators have completed the file and sent it back to the Attorney General’s Office.

“Then the investigators completed the files and on Friday 3 March 2023 they were returned to the Attorney General’s Office,” continued Dirmanto.

So far, 11 witnesses have been examined in relation to Venna Melinda’s report. Three of them are experts in Psychology, Medicine and Criminal.
