Passengers who have booked a flight with Austrian Airlines (AUA) for Tuesday must expect delays, rebooking or flight cancellations. A works meeting of the flight crew is expected to disrupt flight operations, the airline told APA. According to the current status, 34 flights and around 1,700 passengers will be affected. However, around 4,200 passengers can start their flight on Tuesday morning.
Destinations in Central Europe are mainly affected by the adjustments. “Austrian Airlines long-haul destinations can currently be served regularly,” said AUA. The airline has already actively informed those passengers who provided a telephone number or email address when booking regarding flight adjustments and rebookings.
The works council for the on-board staff invites the approximately 3,200 members of the on-board staff to a staff meeting at 9 a.m. “It’s hard to say how many employees are coming,” said Rainer Stratberger, board works council, to the APA. He expects 600 to 1,000 participants. After all, many employees are on the road or on vacation. At the works meeting, the on-board staff should be informed regarding the faltering renegotiations on the collective agreement (KV).
