Reception crisis: left and right neutralize each other, a new kern on Wednesday

MDespite his desire to move forward on the reception crisis, Alexander de Croo (Open VLD) did not manage to reach an agreement within his government on Monday. The Prime Minister had to schedule a new kern (restricted council of ministers) dedicated to the theme of migration for Wednesday evening.

Around the table, we see that a left front (PS, Groen and Ecolo) is facing the two right-wing parties, MR and Open VLD. The latter fear that the measures demanded by the progressives will make Belgium too attractive in a Europe that is politically broken down on asylum. A liberal was also pleased to have obtained progress aimed at making migration in Belgium “stricter”.
