The Arab Football Association announced earlier the establishment of the 2023 edition of the King Salman Club Championship in Saudi Arabia, with the participation of 37 Arab clubs, and announced financial prizes estimated at ten million dollars.
The first round of the King Salman Cup will start on March 13, and will continue until April 12, 2023, and the second round will start on May 8 and end on June 7, 2023, provided that the matches are in a home-and-away knockout system.
The list of first-round clubs included the Royal Moroccan Army, Vanguards of the Egyptian Army, Sfaxien, and Al-Ittihad Monastir from Tunisia, the Algerian youth of Saoura and the Saudi youth, Qatar and Al-Sadd from Qatar, the Emirati unit, Al-Seeb and Al-Nahda from Amman, the Jordanian youth youth, the Iraqi Air Force, Muharraq and Manama from Bahrain, and the Syrian Tishreen and youth. Al-Khalil Al-Palestinian, Al-Burj Al-Lebanese, Nouadhibou Al-Mauritani, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahly Tripoli from Libya, Al-Hilal and Al-Merikh from Sudan, and Kuwait Al-Kuwaiti, with Fahmane Al-Yemeni, who qualified from the preliminary round.
6 clubs qualify from the first round, in addition to 10 clubs that qualify directly, and they are the champions of the Arab Leagues, and they include the Moroccan Wydad clubs, the Tunisian Esperance Club, the Egyptian Zamalek, the Algerian youth Belouizdad, the Saudi Hilal, the Qatari dam and the Iraqi police, in addition to the Moroccan club Al-Raja, the champion of the previous version with its runner-up, the Saudi Federation.
